Top 9 Mother's Day Gift Ideas for a Happy Mum
I don’t like to generalise, but I will. Mum’s are bloody rock stars.
Keeping tiny (and grown) humans alive, cooking, cleaning, home schooling (thanks 2020), working, and carrying the bulk of the household mental load, whilst somehow maintaining their sanity, mum’s are amazing!
Hopefully you let your awesome mum, or mum friend, know how wonderful they are regularly. Mother’s Day though is a chance to do something a little bit special and what better way to show them how appreciated they are, then to gift them something beautiful and thoughtful.
As a mum myself, married to another mum, here are my top 9 gift ideas guaranteed to please:
The stunning Ena Products range it at the top of my list - beautiful, natural, affordable and super luxe
- Anything by Ena Products
Ena products are all natural, all Australian made, feel and smell luxurious and packaged to impress. You can go small, with a lovely lip balm (only $14.95 and boxed ready for gifting) or something truly indulgent like their Rose Geranium and Lavender Body Oil ($44).
My top pick would be their 100ml hand creams. Available in either a floral (Rose Geranium and Lavender) or citrus (Mandarin and Bergamot) scent. They are only $24.95 and come in a pretty box which presents as much more expensive than it actually is.
- A Beautiful Robe
I love buying new clothes. It’s actually problematic for my relationship how much I enjoy it. However, while I’ll spend a bomb on dresses I’m reluctant to spend money on something I’ll wear around the house (even though its my favourite place to spend my time).
Whether your mum is like me, or just doesn’t like to treat herself, a lovely robe makes a thoughtful and practical but indulgent gift.
Go for something high quality in a soft, natural fibre.
The Hilde Floral and Maika Leopard Robe’s by Sage and Clare are 100% cotton flax, are a generous oversize fit…and they have pockets!
Kip and Co also do a fab robe. They are a shorter length and have a ¾ sleeve. Made from pre-washed French flax linen, they feel amazing and will wash and wear beautifully over time. My top favourite is the Atrium print – it’s absolutely lush!

- A Scented Candle
For the mum who has everything, or just doesn’t like accumulating more ‘stuff’, a candle makes a fantastic gift. Once it’s burnt and enjoyed, its gone!
If pretty and fun is your mum’s vibe, I’d go for anything from the Celia Loves range. At a comfortable $24.95 for a 40hour candle to $39.95 for a large 80hour burn, Celia Love’s candles are made with pure soy wax, are all hand poured and just as much energy goes into the beautiful packaging as it does the candles themselves.
For a more minimalist mum, I’d recommend a scented candle by Black Blaze (Bush Walk is my top pick) or Conical Flask candle by Alchemy (Lychee and Black Tea is divine). The conical flask also makes a sweet vase once its finished burning, so its 2 gifts in one really😉.

- A Vase
Want to make that bunch of last-minute grocery store flowers appear more thoughtful? Gift them in a beautiful vase.
Whether you plan to gift a vase along with flowers or not, think about your mum’s décor. Try and choose something that won’t just be put away when she has no flowers to display. An interesting vase should be able to stand on its own as a décor piece empty, or with a simple sprig of greenery from the garden.
Marmoset Found's Infinity vase's are a current favourite. Available in a stunning pallette ranging from crisp white and pale nude to leaf green and charcoal.
The infinity vase by Marmoset Found has curves in all the right places. Available in small $39 and Medium $79.
- A Cute Cosmetics Clutch
Available in either cotton canvas or mashmellow-y soft velvet, the new season range of cosmetic’s clutches by Kip&Co make a great gift. Ranging from $35 to $39, they are cute, affordable and versatile.
Mum can use hers as a little toiletry bag or a handy clutch. Pop in a little lipstick, nail polish or face mask to make it a little self-care hamper.
- A Pair of Earrings
We don’t sell ordinary earrings. If your mum is a classic gold or silver stud type of earring wearer, skip this one. If your mum likes a fun, statement earring, we have the pair of earrings for you.
Our Hannah Hoops are a personal favourite. I love that the pieces can each be slipped off the hoop to be worn in a number of different ways. The Boob range from our recent collaboration with Pleasure and Peach is also really fun and comes in four different styles.

- A Book
The digital age we live in means that we have a world of content at our fingertips. While I enjoy scrolling social media and have transitioned to digital magazine subscriptions for storage reasons, nothing will ever compare to sitting down with a beautiful book.
We have a fab range of art, design and cook books from incredible Australian writers and artists. The sort of books that make beautiful display and styling pieces as well as a fab read.
My top picks: Grounded, A Companion For Slow Living by Anna Carlile and The Originals by Deborah Bibby.
- A Colourful Cushion
It’s no secret we love colour here at Burbridge and Burke. There is a whole bunch of psychology behind colour and what it makes us feel. In short though, colour makes us happy. There is something joyful about a sweet pink velvet pea cushion in an otherwise neutral room.
Whether your mum is a just a touch of colour person, or enjoys a fun pattern or texture, we have the cushion for you. As a leopard print lover I can’t go past the Hilaire Punch Needle cushions in Peach and Pine by Sage x Clare. I’m also a huge fan of the sweet Velvet Pea cushions by Kip&Co.

- Table Linen and Serving Ware
Some of my absolute favourite pieces in the store right now fall into this category so it had to make the list. This one is for those mums that LOVE to entertain.
Kip&Co’s table linen range from the new collection is a stand out for me. I am in love with the lush Atrium print, which is available in a tea towel, napkin set, table cloth and apron. The Summer Pollen print is also really beautiful and a brighter more fun option.
As for serving ware, where do I even start!? There is a huge collection of resin pieces in shades such as Fairy Floss, Liquorice and Crème Brulee from Sage x Clare that I’m adding to my personal wishlist. The cheese knives are just gorgeous. The little resin dishes are great not just for serving up food on a delicious grazing board, but as little trinket dishes for the bathroom or bedside table. Gotta love a bit of versatility.
Kip&Co have also re-released their popular Pink Marble and Amber serving ware, with two new additional colourways, Carnivale and Island Life. Both gorgeous.
